This is the 14th annual candle lighting sponsored by the Sacramento-Placer County Chapter of the BP/USA.   Our local children will be remembered during this very beautiful and touching memorial service.  Family and friends are welcome.  Our theme this year is “Your Light Shines Brightly.”

Is there a charge to attend this event?

There is no charge to attend this event, however donations are received with gratitude to help defray costs.  We are a 501(c)(3) organization and depend upon donations from people who care.  Donations can be made at, and a donation basket will be available at the event.

How can I order photo buttons and magnets?


We offer photo buttons (one photo) $3.00 each, ordered in advance. Magnets of your child’s slide from the Candle Lighting slide show can be ordered for $3.00 each. We appreciate pre-payment of these items via Paypal (Paypal fees are additional). These items will be available for you to pick up at the Candle Lighting. You can order when you register. Pre-payment options are by check payable to BP/USA mailed to Chris Harder, 6920 Destiny Drive, Rocklin  CA  95677. Payment by PayPal is available on our website

Can I be a Business Sponsor?

Business Sponsors are welcome and will be featured in our printed program and on our website for the coming year.

Who is invited to attend the Candle Lighting? 

This event is open to bereaved parents, their families and friends, and our community.  It is very meaningful when others come to provide support to those who have lost a child.

Is child care provided during the Candle Lighting?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide care for young children or babies during this event. This is a very special event for families who want to honor their child. If you must bring a baby or young child with you, we would ask that you take a seat in the rear of the auditorium near the exit. If the child cries or gets restless, please take the child out to the lobby so others will not be disturbed.

What are my parking options at the event?

Parking is plentiful and free, located directly in front of the building.

How do I register?

You can register online at  When you register, we will ask you for some important information that we will need for our printed program and the slide show tribute to our children.  It’s important to provide your email address and phone number in case we need to reach you for clarification of any information. If you are not comfortable with registering on-line, our registration form can be downloaded from our website. The registration forms will also be available at our mom’s and dad’s gatherings in October & November.

Photos for the Slide Show

We are preparing a beautiful slide show tribute to our children.  It’s important that you email up to 3 photoes in high pixel jpg format as soon as possible to The latest we can accept photos for the slide show is Wednesday, December 4th.

Many hours are invested in creating a very beautiful tribute, so it’s important that you send us your photos as quickly as possible.

What can I bring to the event?

1. A framed photo of your child to display at the front of the auditorium. A nice size is 8″x10″.

2. Your child’s favorite holiday finger food to share during our refreshment time following the Candle Lighting service.

Can I update my registration information?


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

There is no need to bring your printed ticket with you.  Buttons and magnets will be available for you to pick up when you arrive at the Candle Lighting.
